Who are you and why is your name spelled like that?

My name is Lore Ferguson. That would be pronounced Lore, as in a lorry, as in a truck from England. I have not, to my knowledge, met my namesake and I doubt I ever will as I am convinced she was a figment of my mothers imagination in order to dispel my constant questioning about the nature of a misspelled and oft mispronounced name.

If we are friends you can call me Lore, or Lor, just as it looks to be pronounced.

Where do you live and what in the world keeps you there?

I live in New York State, but hail from Pennsylvania where I lived until I was eighteen years old. This is my home now. It is small town for four months a year and then from September to December and from February through May double-quadruples its population due to the four universities within fifteen minutes in all directions. I love it.

I also love it because I am part of a growing and vibrant church whose love for the gospel permeates everything we do. There's not better reason to stay anywhere, or go anywhere, than because you can grab hold of something solid and real and good, and find that it's your church. That's what my church is to me. That's why in the world I keep here.

Plus I get to work there. I make shapes and colors and papers pretty. I like that.

How long have you been keeping a weblog?

I started weblogging four weblogs and seven years ago, and have somehow continued albeit short breaks whenever the words didn’t come or the world found out about me via the tangled web Microsoft wove. Whatever the be, I still weblog on occasion. I still write on good occasions. Mostly I write to get good grades, but sometimes I write because I like it. This About page is meeting neither of those requirements, but fun nonetheless.

You can subscribe to my blog feed here.

What is your comment policy?

I'd hardly call it a policy, since I certainly can't enforce it, so they're more like guidelines:

Realize this: Anyone who comes to this page is being entrusted with my salvation in process, my meager pulpit meanderings, nothing more, nothing less. Please don't spit on my testimony, please don't embellish reality, and most of all, please don't take my words for gospel truth. There's only one of those, and this ain't it.

Please keep that in mind when you post a comment or send me an email. I love comments, keep 'em coming, and I love email, even if I haven't answered yours, but the prophecy principle applies here: build up, cheer up, and stir up.

Absolutely!

Will you link to me?
